Previously I showcased some great deals on hot winter coats for women. Today, it's all about the men! A good winter coat is an investment and should be something viewed in the long-term, rather than a single season. When shopping for winter coats, think quality materials, warmth, and a versatile style that reflects you. Price is a factor, especially in these times, but spending a little more is well worth it. I'd say that anything $200 and less is an economical way to get quality for quantity, especially if that item was previously priced much higher!

Another trendy yet classic option is this wool-polyester-rayon jacket from UO. Patterns like plaid and tweed are perennial fall/winter favourites, yet this jacket also features cool modern lines with its button-tab collar and multiple flap pockets. Whether you're a too-cool-for-school hipster pairing this with dark skinny jeans, or a hip-hop hunk rocking it with the latest designer denim, this jacket is perfect for that balance of masculinity and style.

They say that God is in the details, and while this coat is certainly not divine, you have to admit that this expression does have a ring of truth: often it is in the details that you find something special. Take this military-style jacket - a classic military shape skims and outlines a well-built body, and the tough cotton twill exterior will stand up against winter's harsh weather. Yet what keeps this plain jacket from being plain boring, is the unique band stitching at the cuffs, the single vent in the back, and the slash of red on the underside of the collar. Subtle, yet oh so fantastic.

Finally, we have a classic double-breasted peacoat. I absolutely love double-breasted peacoats! Some things never go stale and a good peacoat is one of them. Universally flattering, this peacoat just screams warmth and sophistication. You know how the ladies love those preppy guys on Gossip Girl! Pair this jacket with a bright red or white wool scarf for a whimsical, nautical touch.
