A very interesting blog post via Daily Beauty Reporter at Allure.com talks about the "male bikini wax" trend. Apparently, this trend is spearheaded by hip-hop heavyweights Puff Daddy a.k.a P. Diddy a.k.a Diddy a.k.a who the hell cares, and Jay-Z. Jay-Z?! I cannot believe Hova would get his bush whacked!!! Puffy, I could believe, as he strikes me as a uber metro pansy anyways.
However, it would seem that they are not the only ones doing some moderate to extreme trimming. A quick google search on "male brazilian wax" turned up loads of hits, including a hilarious article from the Globe & Mail. So why are men choosing to go bare? One word: sex. The ladies love it! Plus, many men believe that the minimized hairiness emphasizes certain, other, things. You figure it out.
Personally, once you pick yourself off the floor from laughing at the image of a crying man getting a brazilian by a tiny ferocious Asian spa therapist, the idea does make some sense. After all, women can appreciate it for the same reasons men like women who wax. And why shouldn't guys have to suffer for beauty the same as women do?! We submit our bodies to all kinds of perverse torture to look good, and then screw our bodies up even more by pumping out babies! In fact, I think that all men should have to endure a brazilian, a FULL brazilian, just to get a glimpse of what it's like to be a woman. Then they can go grab US a beer and a sandwich - we'll see how they like that too. Man, I'm in such a feminist rage right now.
