If you are someone constantly on the go in the mornings, with barely a moment to eat breakfast, then this is the product for you. Cleansing towelettes is the industry's answer to cleansing on the go. In particular, these towelettes by Pond's promises fresh, clean skin without the use of water. These large tissue sized towelettes come pre-moistened, so there's no need to rinse or dry your face. Containing ingredients like cucumber, aloe vera, and green tea extracts, Pond's towelettes deep cleans with its dual-textured cloths. One side of the cloth contains exfoliating microbeads to slough off dead skin cells and deep clean pores, while the other side is smooth to refine and remove makeup and impurities. The product is also alcohol and oil free, and hypoallergenic, making it perfect for sensitive skin.
When you first peel open the resealable package, your nose is greeted with the fresh smell of cucumbers and a slight citrusy scent, which I take as a good indicator of freshness. The towelette is indeed moist, and you almost don't need the entire cloth to cleanse your face thoroughly. The microbeads work well too, giving your skin the impression of being gently scrubbed with an old soft facecloth, while the smooth side takes off the makeup residues your remover misses. Unlike generic foaming cleansers, the towelette leaves no residue behind, as evidenced by the fact that when I use my post-wash toner my cotton ball comes off cleaner than usual. Post-wash, my face feels a tad dry, but it's nothing that my moisturizer can't fix. The biggest con of this product is that it just feels odd to me to not splash water on my face, and I feel as if I haven't really cleansed my face without it. Personally, I don't think I would use this as a replacement for my regular cleanser because:
- There are only 30 towelettes in a pack, which makes this an expensive product to regularly purchase and
- There is a lot of waste produced because you throw out a towelette per use.
However, I do think this product would be great if you are camping or travelling to a country where you don't want to risk getting sick from the water. It would also be great for a post-workout cleansing to get rid of sweat and dirt.
Final Verdict: a bit expensive to upkeep, but cleanses well with a clean fragrance. Suitable in a pinch.
